The identifier number, also known as the UDID, of an iPhone, iPod, or iPad is a unique number that identifies your device. If you are an Apple developer you will need this number to install any software on your non-jailbroken phone that isn't available in the Apple App Store.

STEPS

1
LAUNCH ITUNES.

2
PLUG IN YOUR IPHONE, IPOD, OR IPAD.

3
CLICK ON DEVICE NAME IN ITUNES MENU.

4
CLICK ON "SERIAL NUMBER" IN SUMMARY MENU.

5
NOTICE THAT THE SERIAL NUMBER WILL CHANGE TO A LONG LETTER AND NUMBER STRING. This is the Identifier / UDID.

6
PRESS COMMAND+C (MAC) OR CONTROL-C (WINDOWS) TO COPY THE UDID NUMBER FROM ITUNES. Paste into a document for later use.
